Privacy policy

PriceChomp collects the information needed to operate an account-gated deal-research service and limits how that information is used.

Effective August 30, 2026

Information collected

PriceChomp may collect a waitlist email, account name and email, password hash, opaque session records, email-verification and recovery state, saved searches, preferences, an optional shopping ZIP, alert settings, support messages, and security or operational records. Passwords and action tokens are stored only in hashed form.

Product usage information

PriceChomp keeps bounded first-party events to understand public page traffic, feature adoption, useful outcomes, failures, sessions, and recent member activity. Public traffic retains anonymous short hashes, a broad page group, referrer hostname, device class, and country. These analytics do not retain IP addresses, user-agent strings, search text, filter values, item identities, outbound URLs, device fingerprints, or interaction replay.

How information is used

Information is used to operate accounts, secure the service, personalize permitted catalog access, save requested views, deliver opted-in notifications, answer support, diagnose failures, and improve PriceChomp. PriceChomp does not sell personal information.

Cookies and outbound services

PriceChomp uses an essential secure session cookie for signed-in accounts. Retailer and research links are opened only after a deliberate click. Once you leave PriceChomp, the destination service applies its own privacy practices. If qualifying affiliate links are enabled later, the nearby disclosure and affiliate disclosure page will identify that relationship.

Service providers

PriceChomp uses local hosting with Cloudflare for public delivery and Gmail for operational email and support. Optional analysis features send only bounded product facts to the disclosed analysis provider, not account identity, saved searches, or retailer credentials.

Retention and security

Account and saved-search data remain while the account is active or as needed for operation, security, legal obligations, and recovery. Bounded activation records are retained for 180 days and bounded product analytics for 90 days. Credentials and private catalog state remain outside the repository in owner-controlled local storage.

Your choices

You may manage saved-search and notification preferences in your account. You may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing [email protected]. Some records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal obligations.

Changes

This policy may change as PriceChomp develops. Material updates will receive a new effective date. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to the support address above.
